Tetrarch Airborne (A17) tank

Tetrarch Airborne (A17) tank

The Tetrarch light tank was designed in 1938 as a fast light tank to replace the various Vickers light tanks then in service.
The Army then decided it did not want light tanks so after 100 were built they sat in the UK for a while, 20 were set to Russia and some were used in the Madagascar battles,
When they realised that it would fit into the Hamilcar Glider 20 were used in the Normandy Para landings operation Tonga.
