Description
The Saxon was based on the running gear of the Bedford MK 4×4 truck and was designed as a simple armoured vehicle to get British troops to Germany safer than a truck or train.
There were a couple of variants including apc, Peak mg turret, command, ambulance and arv.
It first saw service in 1983 and was widely used in the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland and in Africa and some were recently sold to Ukraine.
Over 10 different nations use it mainly in internal security roles.
